Last updated 2 October 2026

Who these terms are for

Rift is lettings software provided by Rift to its staff and to the agencies it gives accounts to. By signing in you agree to these terms.

Your account

  • Accounts are created by the administrator. Keep your sign-in details private and do not share them. Everything done under your sign-in is treated as done by you.
  • Tell the administrator straight away if you think someone else knows your password.

Using Rift

  • Use it only for lettings work. Do not try to see another agency’s information, break the security, or load anything harmful.
  • You are responsible for the information you enter and for having a right to use it. Treat everything in Rift as confidential, because it holds real people’s personal and bank details.
  • Look after personal information as set out in our privacy notice and data protection law.

Your information

The information you put into Rift belongs to you or your agency. We keep it only to run the service. If an account ends, you can ask for a copy of your information and for it to be deleted, subject to records the law requires us to keep.

Availability and accuracy

We work to keep Rift running and backed up, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Statements, reports and payment files are produced from the information entered, so check them before you send them or make a payment. Summaries written with the help of AI are drafts: please read them before sending.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses caused by information being entered or checked incorrectly, or by services we rely on (such as internet, email or banking providers) being unavailable.

Ownership

Rift is proprietary software. All rights in it are reserved. It uses open-source packages listed in the open-source notices.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. They are governed by the law of England and Wales.
